What do you do after a storm?

Meter risers torn off the house, masts bent, panels that took a surge, circuits dead for no obvious reason. We repair your side of the service, get the inspection done where one is required, and coordinate the reconnect with your utility. The rest of the week it is the ordinary work of a house: a fan swapped, outlets replaced, a chandelier hung in a two-story foyer.

The part that matters

The small jobs are the audition

Most of our reviews are about a fan, a few lights, a chandelier in a tall foyer. Service calls are where you decide whether to call again for the big one. We treat them that way.

Storm damage: first things first

A line down in the yard: stay away from it and call the utility. A mast pulled off the house with wires attached: same rule. Then call us. The utility will not reconnect until your side is repaired, and we do that repair regularly. During a storm event the phone stacks up; leave the address and what happened and Erinn works through them in order.

Troubleshooting is finding the cause

A breaker that trips is doing its job. Resetting it and hoping is not a repair. A dead outlet with a live breaker is usually a loose connection upstream. Flickering lights can be a loose neutral, which is a fire risk, or the utility's connection at the pole. Telling those apart is what the visit pays for.

Questions

Storm Repair & Service Calls questions

Do you offer emergency service?
For storm damage and genuinely severe situations, yes, including after hours at Jeff's judgement. It is not a 24 hour service and a breaker that tripped at 2am can wait until morning. If a line is down, call the utility first.
A breaker keeps tripping. Can I replace it?
It will usually keep tripping, because it is protecting the circuit from something. We find the cause.
Do you do small jobs?
Yes. Fans, outlets, fixtures and bath fans are a normal part of our week.
Can you hang a fixture in a two-story foyer?
Yes. It needs the right ladder and two people, which we bring.
